Finally, after several years of trying to get there, I finally made it to the Seattle Insulator Show. I'm very glad I did. Gil Hedges and Robin Harrison put on a great show and I know I will be back next year to do it again. One of my more unusual finds was on Robin's table. I am hoping that someone has seen one before and is able toidentify this unit for me. Just going on instinct, I think it is some sort of fuse, and for that reason I'm adding it to my fuse switch collection. Perhaps Elton Gish or Jimmy Burns or someone else will recognize the unit and be able to tell me what it is and how it was used. I also welcome any other suggestions. Regardless of how / where used, It is now out in the Insulator Field along side the fuse switches. Robin, Gil, thanks for a great show, and I'm looking forward to your 20th Annual Emerald City Insulator Show. Jimmy Burns suggests; The chunky piece of porcelain is an early attempt at a fused pot head or drop from an over overhead source to an underground carrier or raceway. Jimmy |
