From 1967-1970 this is the little downtown I called my home after my parents split up in late 67. We subsequently moved to grampa's house for quick resort. Shown...known (and still is) Columbian Square. My grandparents lived not too far from where this picture was taken (in 1951, when I was born!) On the pole in the foreground is a firebox indicator light on an ornate scroll bracket with a ruby-red lens (hard to see!). Above it is a then-new General Electric Form 109 400-watt mercury vapor fixture (very state-of-the-art then!) The pole still remains however the vintage lights upon it were removed by the early 1970s.

For you who know the least about the area...that is the Fogg Theatre Building in the background (still standing, unchanged!) and the sorta-famous Cameo Movie Theatre on the far right...totally unchanged through for the most part since the late 1930s!

Altogether, Memory Lane for me at its very best!!
