Oil sight glass from a high voltage power bushing that allows the substation maintenance technician to check the oil level of the bushing during routine equipment checks. (Thanks Dave & Tom!) Etched with a band around the equator and the General Electric "GE" on both sides. It has 7 1/4" openings, is 9" tall and approximately 12" wide with 1/4" thick glass. The base is ground which apears to be part of the manufacturing process. I have seen these in a straight sided cylindrical style but this is the first time I have seen an orange amber one in a fishbowl shape.
