This unique clear embossed strain was bought on eBay and was found in a steamer trunk packed away when the family moved from central Illinois to Oklahoma in the forties. The family then moved to Carolina and the trunk with all its contents that was packed away back in the 1940's was sold as part of their estate sale to an antique dealer who listed the items separately on eBay. It sold for $1300 at the time and doesn't book anywhere near that, but it's still an "only one known" 13-14 years later. It was patented as a street light hanger.

It was crystal clear when I first got it but it has slowly turned ever so slightly to a grayish pink tint. I've never exposed it to direct sunlight. I'm sure that if I left it out in the sun it would turn purple but if more than one was made and survived it would most likely have been used outside in the sun and it would be purple.
