Until last May[2001], Dave was another closet collector. He had heard about me from the owner of a local antique mall, and phoned me. Seems there were some insulators in the air, and Dave didn't have climbing spurs. We met at my place, where I gave him a quick tour of the collection, then off we went to pick some more insulators. Managed to rescue a number of glass and porcelain power pieces. There was nothing exceptional, but it was the beginning of a great friendship. Dave and I have been out on several rescue missions since, and are looking forward to many more outings.
