This line was re-built following a major tornado in the area a few years back, as well as to anticipate rapid growth in the area. The old line was a single circuit line on the typical TVA tower type with horizontally stacked wires. The line leads to a substation roughly a mile south of here. The line allows the substation to tap either direction of a single circuit line about 1/2 mile north (behind camera) allowing for greater reliability.
