A small amount of these two-tone Star insulators have been found in in Central Texas near Possum Kingdom lake on a communication line for an oil company. They have also been found in several other states like Missouri and Nebraska. One surface in Maryland, but I am not sure if it was actually used in that state. A.L. Rash had the darkest one that I have seen and I believe it now resides in the Dwayne Anthony collection.
