This poisonous plant is more shrub or treelike than a creeper or vine. Relatively scarce here in Ohio, it is more common in the Southern and warmer regions of the States. It is identified by 9-13 spaced leaves that are alternately spaced and the leaf stem is bright red. This grows as a low growing shrub or small sapling tree.
