This light fixture was an incandescent (filament) one and it was made by Cutter (same as the tree insulators). It dates back to around 1910-20 and judging by the pulley mechanism atop it, there likely was an arc light in the same location. Arc lights soon became obsolete after 1912 upon revolutionary improvements in incandescent lightbulbs which were much more efficient and lasted longer than the former arc light sources. |
