This PGE (Portland General Electric Co.) employee was known as an "Arc Trimmer" and spent many years at this job in Portland, OR. The lamps could be lowered on a cable with a pulley for maintenance and raised back to the normal height when the work was done. Note the stool with insulators he is standing on.
