In mid December of 2007 I went down to California for a brief visit to Paul Greaves. On my way down I decided to recheck some parts of a line I had searched years ago near Chico....I only found one thing worth mentioning... this cute little sandy blond U-608a Fred Locke .... On my way down to Paul's after my hunt I remembered we had some old 1902-04 era historic photos of the line I had searched that day ... it turns out we had a 100 year old historic photo of the actual pole where I found this insulator [id=148967078]. The insulator was found just down slope from the place where the farthest right pole in this picture once stood ... judging by where it was found, it must have been from that exact pole which means we have an actual photo from 100 years ago of this insulator in service... wow!
