This photograph depicts the 4.25 mile, 26 foot wide line tunnel that remains as an incredible piece of railway history and wonder! Note how the six-pin crossarm telegraph line traversed in the hillside above the tunnel. It is probable this method of line construction was typical in other locations. Good to keep in mind when poking around where telegraph lines went above tunnels like this one.
