While a purple Brookfield is quite unusual, some styles are easier to find in purple than any other color. The most common purple Brookfield is probably the 102 marked BFNY with the tall, narrow skirt. These are found with a large "0" or "X" (about 1/2" tall) or a small "o" or "x" (about 1/8" tall). Embossing is usually quite crisp and bold on these. One will also note the strangely squarish double "00" in "Brookfield" that is peculiar to this insulator and the narrow domed 162 also commonly found in light purple (if one can call a fairly rare insulator "commonly found"). In both cases, a plain light aqua (or any other color) is actually far harder to find than the purple. |
