Thanks to my Sister and her research efforts, I finally have a picture of my Great-Grand Dad on my mother's side. He disappeared from the scene not too long after my Grandma was born and we never knew too much about him. Van Noisworthy was his name and he was a telegrapher in the Spanish-American war at the turn of the 20th century. This picture is dated October, 21st 1906 from Fort McKinley - Philippine Islands. Look at all those insulators!!! I think I can see the following CD's - 126, 127, 102, 104, 106... I remember that my Great-Grandmother told me that she worked for Western Union Telegraph and one of her fondest memories was meeting General (Black Jack) Pershing when he returned home from the war. |
