I have been giving this some thought about the moulds used on the earliest of marked Hemingray ponies. I have set together a 114 Hemi No 11,a script Hemingray No 12,and a prismic embossed Hemi No 12 for comparison of moulds. This is just purely observation and speculation on my part, but, to me, I think the CD 114 and some of the script 113's could possibly be a reworked 114 mould because of similarities shared between the two that the slightly later prismic 113 doesn't seem to share. Similarities such as the bulbous, sharply downturned dome seen on the middle script pony that also has a noticeably more angled juncture line from dome joining into the UWG lip's shoulder compared to the later prismic's smoothly curved dome to UWG lip juncture. Plus, the slightly tapered body of the insulator between the skirt wire groove and the upper wire groove's lower lip. The prismic as well as the stamped ones seem not to have this slight taper to the body. Does anyone else have any ideas about this or care to interject their thoughts on this possibility?
