Hiking up the canyon. This is definitely the most difficult hike I've ever done. The thunderstorms later in the day did not help at all. Lesson learned... don't bring an uncovered foam pad strapped to the outside of your pack... when it rains it acts like a sponge, filling with water. I came so close to abandoning it.
