At age 13, I made drawings of various Mountain States Power poles in the area while staying at the beach with my grandparents. Bored with the beach activity, maybe? I would walk or bike around Twin Rocks and document them. I guess people watching me thought....weird kid? But I was interested in MSP because even then in 1953, they were being threatened with condemnation by Tillamook PUD, to the point where competing pole lines were installed on the streets! I just happened to watch this spool rack pole being installed in 1953 and am amazed it is still there today, altho somewhat modified.
