These 2 huge rocks stand alone right off the beach and are how the community got it's name, of course. Twin Rocks is now a "suburb" of Rockaway Beach, a larger town 1 mile north. The rocks are unusual because there a no other rocks near them out in the ocean north, or south for at least 30 miles. Note that the south rock has a "hole" through it and it is considered great, but risky sport to go through it in a boat! During storms, the waves sometimes go clear over the top of them and crash through the hole! This is insulator related only because we will be looking at some power poles on shore....right in front of the rocks.
