We are taking a trip to Twin Rocks, a community right beside the Pacific, located 4 miles N. of Garibaldi, Oregon. We will see how TPUD (Tillamook Peoples Utility District) deals with the constant insulator leakage that occurs with 25,000 volts located in salt air and fog. As we head up scenic Hwy. 101 we see a 3 phase main line along the highway that was installed years back with oversized brown 2 part multipart insulators good for over 40,000 volts in dry country! But since their standard distribution insulator is now a smaller size 2 skirt sky blue unipart, some of the multi's have been replaced with these.
