In this case, a 17 watts per channel amplifier, modelled after the venerable Dynaco ST-35. This time around, with a better quality circuit board, heftier power supply and all crammed onto and into a 10X 9X 1.5 inch chassis. Basically, a pretty good attempt of cramming 20 pounds of, er, stuff, into a five pound box...

The usual practice is to have the PC board inside the chassis, and only the tubes exposed, but in this case, this was not practical nor possible. There is some "exposed" high voltage, but one would have to really try hard to reach in and get "bitten"
