The pin is straight up from the bottom for 2 3/4 inches and then begins to taper to the top which has a diameter of 3/4 inch. The threads are cut into the upper 1 inch of the pin. The base of the pin fits into a metal sleeve that is 2 inches tall. The botton of the pin is flush with the bottom of the metal sleeve.
