Here are five CD 145 American beehives with the base embossing: "AM. INSULATOR CO. N.Y. DOUBLE PETTICOAT" on the first half of the base, then the patent dates. Get an instant collection of this early ( 1880s- 1890s ) glass with a good color spread and two nice green examples for one price.

1. Bright and dark "American Blue". 2 date, Pat'd Sept 13, 1881, Nov 13, 1883 variant. Some scattered pings and a wire groove chip. Small chip to embossing.

2. Light blue, 2 date, Pat'd Sept 13, 1881, Nov 13, 1883 variant. 2 dome chips, perfect embossing

3. Aqua - nice bubble in skirt just below a white potstone rock. Also the 2 date, Pat'd Sept 13, 1881, Nov 13, 1883 variant. Exterior and embossing are mint. Thumbnail chip to inner skirt.

4. Lime green. 3 date, Pat'd Sept 13, 1881, Nov 13, 1883, Feb 12, 1884 variant. Skirt bruise and base chip on back side. Scattered pings. Displays excellent. $100-$150 color if near mint.

5. Green. Large amber glob in dome. 3 date, Pat'd Sept 13, 1881, Nov 13, 1883, Feb 12, 1884 variant. Base chipping to 40% of base but confined to one side. Displays near mint from the opposite side. $250-$300+ color if near mint. Not quite yellow green - but close.
