This older pole once belonged to the predecessor IOU (Investor Owned Utility) in Tillamook County OR. That was Mountain States Power Co. until 1954. This single phase tap line runs up a steep hill right near my house in Garibaldi where it once served a now abandoned house. Notice the small porcelain signal on the right side of the arm. Originally there were two of them and was all that was needed for the single phase 2300 volt tap line on MSP. TPUD kept the line intact and all they did was add a two skirt insulator on the left side for their higher voltage and left the original signal type for the neutral(grounded wire). Note the moss growing on the old cross arm...this is a damp, moist, foggy. salt air climate. Also note the "half crossarm' that TPUD consistantly uses for the fuse cutout. Note also the spectacular view south of Tillamook Bay that I have from my property. But the tide is out in this photo, so it is "Tilla-Muck" :-D
