TPUD likes to clearly identify their facilities with emergency numbers and the company logo, unlike other electric utilities in this region. (like PGE). The logo depicts Tillamook County very well. The name Tillamook is derived from the Native American tribes in this area and means Land of Many Waters. It also depicts the slogan used for the area by the Chamber of Commerce and others. "Land of cheese, trees and ocean breeze". Local wags have long ago added "and mud up to your knees"!
