Essentially no matter where you are in Canada or the United States, you will inevitably encounter a lot of Hemingray CD 106s in common colours and embossing styles. It stands to reason that once in a rare while an unusual one will show up - especially with that many having been made over however many years! This one looks ordinary enough at first. Clearly the [100] embossing style... less than a dollar in blue aqua, the colour of this paricular piece. However, upon closer inspection one would notice some thing that most examples of this embossing style do not have. There is a thick, hefty line scratched into the dome 360 degrees around the insulator. It appears as though someone had placed the mould on a lathe, and was carving out some component of the piece, when their chisel or implement of some kind slipped, and accidentally created this deep mould mark. The mark becomes deeper as you follow it around the dome, until it disappears into the point of initial impact, where it stick out of the otherwise smooth glass a full 1/32"! Doesn't seem like much, but it's unusual for sure! Other than this, the E is pretty awesome in it's crookedness. Not a single ping that I can see, but we'll say VNM just to be sure. I'm asking $5 U.S. plus shipping for this unusual mould flaw. I'll even throw in the rest of the insulator for free. :D I accept personal cheques from any member of ICON, or any one I've dealt with before. All the best! |
