Dave recently got this nice one from Italy, an emerald green Borgo S-1. It may look like someone cut the top off a Miva 1212, but indeed it is a complete unipart "UFO" insulator, and still has the original iron pin cemented firmly in place, as will be seen in the second photo. Dimensions are approximately 6 inches diameter and 2 3/4 inches from base to the top of the dome. The pinhole is somewhat larger diameter than the standard US one-onch size. This originally had a zinc threaded thimble cemented into the pinholw, and a steel pin firmly rusted into the thimble. I looked through the GIFONA book, there is no close matching or similar CD for this one.

It's not real clear in this pic, the embossing is BORGO // S.1 on either side of the top cable groove.

I have now successfully de-pinned this insulator, and am giving it a final acid bath to get he remaining junk off and then I'll shoot a new picture.

A good profile shot of this insulator can be seen if you [id=121154708]
