For your consideration this morn' is a shiny, Canadian 145 from the Hudson Bay Railroad, running north from Winnipeg, to Churchill, Manitoba. Although we didn't have a chance to hunt the line at all on our trip across Canada, I feel a little more attached to the history of these H.B.R. pieces having been that much closer to where they originated. The embossing style of this piece appears to be [010] embossing with no visible blot outs, although I wouldn't doubt that this mould was at one point either a T.C.R. or G.T.P. mould, as the letters are large, and crudely scribed, as is characteristic of Canadian blotouts. The condition on this piece is one of the best I have owned, with just a couple flat base flakes on the front skirt, off to the left. One is 5/16", the other is 3/8", and neither is very visible, or very important. There is a 1/8" scratch on the rear, dome, but that is the extent of the damages. I'm asking $18 U.S. plus shipping for this shining example of Canadian railroad and telegraph paraphernalia. I accept personal cheques from any member of ICON, or any one I've dealt with before. I can do $14 U.S. plus shipping on this one. All the best! |
