There's an interesting story behind this piece. A couple years ago I bid on a double patent no name 257 with all of that train soot on it, expecting it to be solid aqua, never knowing that the seller had more than one. Soon after it arrived I noticed that it was a Hemingray 257 but before letting the seller know I decided to soak it in acid. As you can see the results were very surprising. You can never be sure what is under that train soot or what is on eBay! Thanks for looking.
