Those were the days when there was absolutely no sound while the snow was peacefully falling. Perhaps there was the sound of a rarely seen gasoline propelled automobile or a railroad train somewhere in the distance? Other than that...no sounds of traffic on ground or above nor from anything else man-made. Simple and absolute solitude. And whatever "whispers" nature made while this picture was taken in its rural location. Added mention is what the sweet smell of nature must have been like on a winter day like this. Whether it was from the adjacent foliage or a distance wood stove..

I know that priceless peacefulness in rural areas of the US still exists. Like open-wire and glass insulators, these wonderful things have been slowly but surely been vanishing from Americana in the so-called name of "progress"
