The wood is some of the 5/4 clear heart fir I got years ago. It was used for bleachers in an old turn of the century school back in Virginia. A quick run through the planer turns these beaten up weathered pieces into furniture quality wood. It's got an old patina that just can't be found in new off the shelf stock.
