When I say heavy duty, I mean it... This case is laminated 3/8" plywood, with all aluminum hardware, corner protectors and piano style hinge all riveted together. Flush mount steel clasps and flush rubber hand grip that pops up. Note it does not have a lock. If you really wanted to add one, there is plenty of metal plate where you could bolt or rivet one on it.

Looking down from the hinged cover, it's about 22L x 13W x 24D. Useable space is 18" left to right, 10" front to back, 19" top to bottom. Foam lining is generally 1 3/4" all around. Two of the smaller sides seem to have 1" foam. This 25 lb brute was custom made by ATS cases, to ship valuable computer equipment to Mexico City. About ten years old, but was only used for one or two shipments. Excellent condition.

It is similar to the one shown in "Custom Shipping Cases" on that page. If you don't want it for your insulators, perhaps you can use it for something else.

As I said, this guy weights in at 25lb (empty). I did some rate tests with FedEx and UPS to the mid west and to CA (I'm from MA). Rates varied from about $15 to OH to $30 for CA. I'll quote you the cheapest rate (UPS vs FedEx) if you are seriously interested but that is a price range to start with.

I'd say I would deliver it to Springfield, but with a car load of sales stock, a large display, suite case and "Jill's stuff", I don't know if it would fit. Perhaps I could get it to someone close to us also going to the show. No promises...

Got to move it out of my shop, so it's yours for $20 (plus shipping ;-) From some prices on-line I estimate this would be easily $300+ case. At least I don't have to box it up for shipping! Please reply with your USPS shipping address. Don't worry, it will NOT be shipped priority mail!!
