Here's a very old and rarely seen or offered white glazed porcelain insulator marked FCAB. [id=189208692]. This marking is for the Antofagasta & Bolivia Railway which runs from the town of Antofagasta, Chile to a short distance inside Bolivia. This historic railroad was given this name in 1888 and managed by a Bolivian company until 1903 when interests were transferred to Britain. This style insulator is a classic British design. Curiously there appears to be a "3" stamped inside the inner skirt- likely the year of production- which coincided with the year Britain assumed oversight of the railroad. So this was exported from Britain, probably made by Jobson Brothers and served faithfully for over 100 years!

3 7/16 x 4 inches tall. VNM shape with a small match head flake below FCAB. Partial pin cemented inside. Don't miss out on this historic insulator for only $80 plus shipping. Thanks Robin!
