Oak side-pin with block

Was in very smoky Northern Nevada this weekend. . . with the heat and smoke it was a pretty uncomfortable trip. . . but did manage to hit a antique store during my ordeal. . . found this old guy, with square nails intact, at a junque shop for 20 bucks. Looks very similar to the EC&M blocks and side pins folks have found in the Sierra Nevada mountains. Can see where one of the square nails split the side pin and someone fixed it with a newer round nail.

Not a killer find but still neat to find something that is well over 130 years old! Just wish the EC&M or Cal Electric insultor that was originally placed on this pin was still there. . . maybe someday!
