Last but not least, we occasionally find poles that had a metal strap to keep the side pins secure. I don't why they are scattered here and there, because they don't seem to be in high stress areas. Our hunt didn't bring home any insulators, but we had fun and found a few promising areas to check out later. What we did find were common insulators and thought it was best to leave them there because they are neat to see in the wild and will sooner or later end up in the underbrush.
