This historic piece was in my collection for many years until a recent upgrade. I actually got a chance to visit the site of the old Mayo warehouse in Richmond VA when the dig for these historic jewels was going on. Doug Williams, Jeff Katchko and I didn't dig up any whole specimens ourselves, but did see several glass CD 701.6 come out of the ground, as well as porcelain teapots, and these U-970 eggs. This insulator is in surprisingly good shape for being dug. There is some shallow flaking on one side, probably from a shovel. There is also some base flaking and a small chip, but mostly on the inside. I've listed a seperate pic of the base. Asking $335.00 delivered to your door. Thanks for looking!
