This is a 60s vintage, all-tubes Schober Organ that my Dad and I put together from a kit, back around 1963. The keyboard and foot opedal contacts are badly corroded, and at some time in tne past, a few families of mice were using it as a luxury condo... If it is indeed possible, this wil make for an interesting restoration project. It is located down at my place in NC. This is down in the nice and dry (and hopefully rodent-free) cellar. Inside are about 65 12AX7 dual triodes, and a smattering of other vacuum tubes. No transistors or ICs in this beast! Unlike Billy's B-2, any atempt at making this particular organ fully operaational, is about as likely as re-floating the Titanic... Supposedly there are new designed after-market solid state tone generators available for this organ and they will work with otherwise "flakey" keyboards, so that may be the viable alternative for me... Maybe I'l just fit a couple of cheap Casio Keyboards in the appropriate locatiions and call it a done deal ;-) |
