This tree insulator once held a Forest Service line running along U.S 12 to the ranger station at Lolo Pass. The location is about two miles west of the Lolo Pass Visitor Center. It was spotted from a turnout on the north side of the road (driving east). It is not rare but an interesting find. It was left in place as an artifact of the old line.
