B No.44s are common around here, there's no refuting it. However, it is still tough to find one with a good, overall air of crudity to it... and this one has it. Voila! You name it, this one's got it. Straw marks, amber swirls (lots of these - all throughout the piece!), lopsidedness, a bit of snow, lehr kisses, 1 1/8" of dome glass, overpour on the base, a crooked inner skirt, and the base part of all - a malformed, half threadless pinhole! It looks as though the threading mandrel was dragged across one half of the pinhole when it was removed from the insulator, and it took with it the threads from that half. It just so happen that this is the front half of the piece, so you can display it from the front with severely compromised threading! The only condition issue with this one is a 5/8" by 1/4" discoloured fan crack in the rear base (visible in the right hand photo). There is also the upper wire ridge "chip" shown, but this is actually not a chip by any means, it's really a product of the aforementioned lehr kiss. The chip has smooth edges, so you can tell it was made when the piece was still molten. I'm asking $25.00 U.S. plus shipping for this superb oddball of a 145! When you get the piece in your hand, feel the weight, see the amber and everything else amiss about it, you won't regret the price! All proceeds go to our trip across Canada to the west coast and back through the NW and central U.S.. Help some poor, unfortunate teenagers leave their flat, glacial plains geography and see some real sunsets out in the rockies! ;) I accept personal cheques from any member of ICON, or any one I've dealt with before. All the best! |
