One of the HEMAH / NEMAN insulators, in a dark sapphire blue with a purplish overtone. Embossing on the (front) skirt HEMAH in large block letters, 1967 (Cyrillic G) and TC III embossed on the sides of the head. While everybody was excitedly bidding on other cobalt goodies from Belarus, this one slipped through at a fairly low price! Condition VNM except for a tiny base chip and a couple of tiny scuffs / dings. It does show some signs of having actually served active duty as an insulator, and not just freshly plucked out of some box in a warehouse, and it doesn't have that "oily" feel to it that the new ones do. . The other version of this insulator has very small letter "shoulder" embossing, and was given the title of CD 569.2, so this larger bold embossing variant is either a CD 569.2 or a variant thereof, TBD. I'll try for better color accuracy in a future photograph. it is not as "cobalt" blue as appears in this photo. |
