Here is the picture of the dome of this red insulator. There is a yellowish/gold colored ring of metal that we are pretty sure could be a piece of gold. I have heard they used gold to turn glass red so this would make a lot of sense too. This insulator seems to lean more towards red than amber but since there is no true Red insulators, how can we determine an insulator as Oxblood? Any help with this question or comments on the gold, or any other opinions are greatly appreciated. Thanks. (Its a good thing insulators aren't scared of heights) |
