I would guess that this squirrel is either proof of Darwin's Theory of Evoultion or the Homer Simpson show with the three eyed fish caught in the cooling waters of a Nucular power plant.

There are black squirrels and there are grey squirrels. There are black squirrels with grey tails and probabally grey squirrels with black tails. But, there are no black squirrels with RED tails, anywhere else that I know of. Not just one but at leas tfive of the critters.

The winter of 2006 I had five of these squirrels living in the woods around my house. During the summer of 2007 they disappeared as squirrels seems to do, raising young and easy food sources result in them being less visable. The winter of 2007 saw black squirrels again in my woods, but none have red tails.

Makes me wonder just a bit about living a mile downwind of a nucular refinery all my life.
