The scoop: A line with a few poles sporting rare green glazed Delta multiparts are coming down. I have been watching this line for a long time, as such green glazed Deltas are not only rare, they are equally beutiful and interesting. As my mom use to passing by this place quite often, she also keep an eye on the line. So yesterday she phone me and said that the line was taken down. "Damn!" After work I immediately drove to the place, only to find that the poles have been cleared away - gaahhh. But after some looking around, following the line to some farms, luckily some poles were still standing. Today I went back, and this very day they had taken down the trafo "terminal twin pole", which was standing yesterday. I talked to one of the linemen, who was very friendly; of course he had never heard of insulator collectors (remember this is Sweden)! And "of course you can have the green insulators, if you manage to get them off". "No problem" I replied. There is no option here - these must be saved!! This first photo shows the interesting upper part of the pole, with 6 Deltas and a switch still in situ. Also a brown spool is visible. |
