Most of these recovered from the former Boston "Orange Line" MTA Elevated Railway System from the demo contractors had some damage. This one was bought by me back in 1988 from the demo people and I was very happy to discover (after cleaning it) that this piece was in absolutely superb condition. You will search long and quite hard to find one in better shape. This "straight sides" N.E.G.M. Co. has been in my collection ever since and no others have been found in this style anywhere since the Boston Orange Line "El" was dismantled. This insulator exhibits very minimal wear and grades VNM or better. The only "defects" I can see are a teeny fisheye on top one of the ears (not noticable) and some cable wear whereby the individual strands are clearly seen in the insulator's saddle, giving it character in my opinion!
