On the last insulator hunting trip, we stopped by a spot where an Acadian aged wooden culvert had been dug up for some reason last summer, and we had found a few shards of insulator there. Well, the tide was out, so Dave crawled down into the hole, and the first thing he sees is this - a fossil!! It's a fossil of some type of tree/plant stem. So surely, this hole was deep enough to find some old glass. Then came the temporary excitement - wedged in between some of the old timbers, was a piece of insulator. Now, a full 6 feet below the surface, the thought was threadless of course! After some digging and prying, turns out it's a B.T.C. [080] CD 121, with most of the base missing. Oh well, at least we have a fossil. :-)
