Your "typical" CD 282 No 2 Provo. Yeah right... [030] embossing. Note that it has the 1893 drip point patent, but not the 1899 Provo patent! An early Hemingray power piece. Nice script embossing with that "loopy 2" (twice even! Once in the front for "No 2" and once in the back for "May 2 1893")

Typical? Well, take a look at the color.. Beautiful Light Aqua! I hate the saying "When have you seen another one?" but I'll comment "When have you seen another one?" ... Seriously... I got this piece in 1990, and hardly have seen one since, and just got a slight upgrade.

I searched the 36,000 pictures in the PicturePoster for "282 Light Aqua" and found ZERO matches. Hmmm... You decide if this is all hype or just reality...

OK, so much for the marketing... Now for the truth... Damage. Yes, a little. Chip in front, see photo. 1" bruise at the left mold line gets about five drips. Small chip on the inside of the outer skirt gets one drip. Aside from that, the other drips look perfect! The upper wire ridges are flawless. Couple dings on the dome. Overall, not bad for a No 2 *AQUA* Provo, is it? But remember the color for this one... Light Aqua! Some call it "Sky Blue" The color is the key here!

The book says $125-150 but as a Hemingray collector, I personally feel that is quite underrated, given the $50-75 range for the plain aqua one, and those can have damage too...

$150 ppd. Upgrade if you ever see one... Keep this for 15 years like I did before finding an upgrade. You won't be sorry... Satisfaction guaranteed.

P.S. Not that this is a definitive indication of anything, but a search with the top three search engines, Google, MSN and Yahoo, as well as eBay yielded no (insulator) results for "282 Light Aqua" ... does it even exist on the net? ...
