This picture was taken April 25, 2007 in the small Bavarian town of AufKirchen about 20KM South West of Munich Germany. The insulators shown are on a metal pole affixed to the top of a House. They are the service entrance to the home for the 240VAC. Interestingly, nearly every home I have seen while here that have these types of service entrances also have the same shape insulator in brown porcelain. For some reason, this home and only a few others in the area have glass. I have located a 1932 picture of the home without any service entrance, so these must have been put into service after that time. I have yet to locate an unguarded one of these to bring home, but I an here for another two days ......
