My brother found a nice old one today not sure of the CD number but it is a CREB. It says No. 10 on top, the edge of dome reads BROOKFIELD Cliff St. N.Y. just the initials of New York. My brother was mushroom hunting today close to Eldon MO. he was about 200 yards from the old Rock Island rail, a train hasn't ventured these tracks for over 20 years now. Anyway 200 yards from the tracks looking for mushrooms brother Steve found a ditch with glass he said he was thinking maybe I'll find a insulator in here. He said he was starting to leave then seen something blue. Ever sense he found a old vasaline old car ash tray I thought it was a insulator. I looked it up on the internet to see what it was, I found the ICON site they set me straight and gave me some very interesting history. I was a insulator hunter from that point on, about 3 months now. I picked my brother up just a few minutes ago to go help our uncle unload a U-Haul truck. Anyway we get to do that in the morning. Steve brought this insulator to show me I said it looks like one of those 1871 insulators but I couldn't find a date. I'll have to ask you experts here on ICON? You can pictures me and my brother driving down the street trying to figure out what this was CD an all. I had my pin light out of my pocket looking at this thing in the dark. I said hey man I think this is what they call a corn flower blue, but I'm not sure can you folks help? Man isn't that a shame it has some skirt damage. I was asking Steve can you find this ditch again? Yeah he said I can take you right to it. I was telling him no tellin what's in the ditch if a person wanted to do a little digging. I tried to clean it some, but I believe this needs a acid bath to do it justice. Anyway I'm posting it for you good folks to see. If you can help what is the CD number, and color? Thanks hope you liked the little find I did. Regards Wes....:o) P.S. I'll post a few more pics of this same insulator. |
