Got his one from "Mister HEMAH" in Belarus, it is a different looking J Stolle Niemen (from Poland) than the one I posted earlier. Going back about 69 years ago, this was located in Poland, prior to WWII and Soviet Expansionism. It will be joining my collection shortly... The embossing isn't really clear in the photo, it reads as j. STOLLE ,, NIEMEN'' theer are a few other assorted dots / periods, but I have yet to determine if they are intentional or just minor mold flaws. Compare this JSN to the one shown here: [id=178362744] THis one appears to be bluer, the other one has a greenish hue. As you can see, the embossing doesn't align with the top saddle groove, in either case. A little historical data: HEMAH (Neman) glassworks was formerly the Polish company J. Stolle Niemen, and after the end of WWII and ongoing Soviet expansionism, the portion of Poland along the Niemen River became Byelarussia (White Russia), which is known today as Belarus. . The Polish term for Glassworks is "HUTY SZKLANE" |
