Now, on how many occasions have you seen an insulator with a number embossed inside the pinhole? I know I haven't seen too many different styles, and not too many individual pieces. The few of them that are around are especially few in the area of DOMINION CD 164s. I managed to retrieve about a half dozen of these from some local linemen who were taking scads of CD 164s out of service about 3 years ago. Of the hundreds of CD 164s I received, probably somewhere around 60 of them were Dominion - 614s. Of those 60, only a half dozen had these numbered pinholes. It's not often we get the chance to acquire 60 Dominion CD 164s, is it? ;) The presence of the number '23' in the pinhole would make this the [060] embossing. The piece is quite obviously light straw, which makes it also unlisted at this time! The only thing wrong with this piece is a 1" by 1/2" fan crack beneathe the '4' in this piece's style number. It's difficult to photograph, as it is most often not noticible. The piece must be rotated correctly so that the light shines off the crack at the right angle in order to illuminate it. There is also a 1/4" chip on the rear base, but it does not affect any drips. I'm asking a simple $5 U.S. plus shipping for this item. I realize the fan crack is a nuisance and detracts from the piece, but it is still a comparitively scarce embossing variety, and you may have trouble acquiring another example! I accept personal cheques from any member of ICON, or anyone I've dealt with before. All the best! |
