This Pacific Power pole is located not too far south of Eugene, OR. and right along side the Interstate 5 freeway. The suspension insulators carry 115,000 volts. This particular 2 crossarm configuration was installed on the new pole circa 1952 by the Mountain States Power Company. This company, in earlier years, was controlled by the H.M. Byllesby Engineering and Management Co. This Chicago holding company designed their own power lines to their own specifications used through out their system. The 2 arm with suspension insulators formation was widely used across the country by this firm. To see another similar pole 1600 miles away in the Midwest, also constructed by a Byllesby company, [id=177384129] Note the tie cable to the pole on the top arm to balance the weight of only one wire.
